Plantation shutters are commercially
available in a variety of hardwoods and softwoods. Good
cases can be put forward for using each of the differing
materials. We here at Shutter World have made the decision
to supply shutters in 3 different woods. Each wood has different
characteristics and dependent on your particular requirements
for your shutters, we believe from the 3 products we’ve
chosen we’ll be able to provide a solution that meets
any criteria.
Our internal window shutter &
interior/internal window shutters provide a practical alternative
or addition to curtains, filtering light and providing an
airy feel, making a room feel larger and less cluttered
while, at the same time, providing much needed privacy from
the outside world.
Basswood Interior house Shutters
& Wooden Interior Shutters
Basswood is an American, sustainable
sourced hardwood and an important specialized use is in
the construction of Venetian blinds and shutters*. It has
ideal mechanical properties and evenness of grain ensuring
consistency of finish, strength and rigidity. To prevent
warping our Basswood internal shutters are made from a top
grade, kiln dried laminated basswood. The lamination process
gives extra strength and integrity to the shutter that won’t
be found in shutters that are manufactured from entirely
solid sections. Furthermore, of all the hardwoods, basswood
is one of the lightest in weight making it ideal for shutters
that need to span particularly wide openings.

The wooden internal house shutters
are available in 50 standard paint and stained finishes,
they can also be supplied in colours from the Dulux and
Farrow and Ball colour charts but this will carry a surcharge.
Louvre sizes available 32mm,47mm,64mm,89mm and 114mm wooden
interior shutters available throughout the Uk, United Kingdom.

Coralwood Interior Shutters
Coralwood are manufactured by combining
the qualities of Craftwood frames with Basswood panels.
It offers great value for money with fantastic build quality.
Coralwood shutters are our mid-range
shutter product which we recommend especially for those
looking for painted hardwood shutters at a more modest price.
Coralwood is an exciting and relatively
new additon to our range of shutters. It is a solid hardwood
shutter but because of the very limited range of options
we are able to supply it at a reduced price.
We supply Coralwood shutters in one
of three paint finishes - Silk White, Pearl and Bisque.
Craftwood Interior Shutters
& Mdf Interior Shutters
Our Craftwood shutter is manufactured
from Light Density Fiberboard (LDF). LDF is strong and has
excellent dimensional stability, however it is heavier than
timber and therefore there are constraints on its practical
use – most notably, it is not suitable for particularly
wide window or door openings. Our Craftwood shutter is finished
in a tough, water resistant poly coating and is resistant
to scuffing, staining, and cracking, chipping and fading!
Being moisture resistant the Craftwood shutter is ideal
for humid rooms such as bathrooms. (

technology developed in the US make Craftwood shutters.
The craftwood interior shutters are durable and sturdy,
resistant to chipping, cracking, fading and warping, Craftwood
interior shutters are available in three colours only silk
white, pearl and bisque. (Bi-fold tier on tier not available
in the Craftwood range but it is available in all the other

Pearlwood Timber Interior Shutters
Pearlwood is a hardwood, very light
in weight with a distinctive grain. It is ideal for staining
and can be painted
A less expensive alternative to
Basswood, it is however no less inferior. Like the Basswood
shutter, the Lockwood product is also made from kiln-dried,
laminated timber.
Pearlwood has much the same qualities
as Basswood in regards to stability and resistance to warping,
Pearlwood come in 9 standard paints and 17 stains ranging
from light to dark.also custom colors from Dulux or Farrow
and Ball paint color charts. Louvre sizes available 47mm,64mm,89mm.(A

Shutter World has interior
window shutters that are available in five styles.
1.Full Height shutters:
These are a full height single panel,with
a strengthening divider rail at the mid point when the height
is greater than 118cm, thus allowing independent movement
of the slats in the top and bottom section. more......
2.Cafe-style shutters:
These are panels that cover the bottom
section of the window only, allowing light and privacy simultaneously.more......
3.Tier on Tier shutters:
This allows the top tier of panels
to swing open independently from the bottom set, thus allowing
the choice of either total privacy or of full light to enter
through the top window, leaving the bottom section closed
if necessary. more......
4.Solid shutters:
Solid shutters are the ultimate traditional
shutter, providing a wonderfully old-fashioned look to a
window and an added security feature.Solids are also available

5.Special shaped shutters:
Our custom made shaped shutters are
designed to be a practical and stylish solution to the most
