Gable bedroom window with shutter panels shaped to its angled top

Angled shutters for gables and slopes

A gable, loft or triangular window needs a shutter that follows its slope. We shape every panel to the glass, angle by angle, and the shutter covers the lot, right up into the point.

Covering the glass right to the point

A standard blind or curtain will not follow a slope, so on a triangular, sloping, gable-end or loft window the top of the glass tends to stay bare. We measure each angle, each slope and the depth of the reveal, then make shutters to match, with nothing cut down from a standard size.

Loft conversions, gable ends and conservatories with angled rooflines all take them, as do cathedral-style glazing and triangular feature windows. Angle the louvres to take the edge off the daylight or the glare, or shut them for a snug evening, and the window's shape stays on show.

  • Shaped to the slope

Every panel follows the angles we measure, all the way into the point.

  • Made for loft rooms

Loft conversions and gable bedrooms suit them, where a blind would leave the top of the glass bare.

  • Softer light

Angle the louvres to take the glare off the sloping glass.

Ranges that make angled shutters

Georgia, Boston, Montana and Hollywood make angled and triangular shutters. If your slope is not a regular shape, we make it in Montana from a template.

Between them, the five ranges offer 41 colours and stains, and four of them will match a custom colour.

Questions we get on angled shutters

Not answered here? Ring 08707 545 300 or bring it up at your free design visit. We are open 7 days, 9am to 6pm.

What is an angled window shutter?

A shutter for a sloped, triangular or other angled window. We make it to that window's own angles, so it fits and the light and privacy stay under your control.

Which windows can you do?

Gable ends, loft windows, triangles, trapezoids, angled conservatory rooflines and cathedral-style glazing. Give us a frame and we can measure it and build a shutter to suit.

How do you measure a sloping window?

We take every angle, every slope and the depth of the reveal when we come for your free design visit. The shutters are built to those figures, with no standard size cut down.

Do they have louvres?

Yes, wherever the shape allows. Tilt them for softer light or less glare, or shut them for privacy, as on any other shutter.

Which ranges make them?

Georgia, Boston, Montana and Hollywood. For an irregular shape we make the shutter in Montana from a template.

Will they suit a modern house?

Yes. The clean lines of the window stay on show, which suits a new build or a modern room as much as an older house with gables and loft rooms.
