Curved bay shutters for bow windows
On a bow window a curtain track has no corner to sit in. We make a set of shutters for every window on the curve, and the bay holds its shape while you decide how much light comes in.

Getting the fit right round the curve
A bow window is a curved bay: four or more windows following a smooth arc. You get light from several directions and some extra floor space, but blinds and curtains bought off the shelf will not suit its shape. We take the sizes of every window on the curve and make its shutters to fit.
A curve needs care, so our own team does the measuring, making and fitting. Tier-on-tier, café style and full height all work in a bow window, and tilting the louvres cuts the glare and keeps the sun off your furniture.
Panels for each window
Each window on the curve gets panels sized to its own opening.
Sun kept off the furniture
Angle the louvres and the strong sun stays off your furniture, glare and all.
Private from the road
Angle the louvres and the room stays bright while the street sees nothing.

Questions we get on curved bay shutters

What is a curved bay shutter?
A shutter made for a bow window. The panels are made for each window on the curve, so you keep the outline of the bay and still decide on the light and privacy.
Curved bay or angled bay: which do I have?
An angled bay has clear corners. A bow window, or curved bay, runs four or more windows round a smooth arc. Either kind takes shutters made for each window.
Which styles work on a curve?
Solid panel, café style, tier-on-tier and full height all work. Full height looks even and tidy, café leaves the upper glass clear, and with tier-on-tier the top half opens while the bottom stays shut.
Can you fit shutters to a curve?
Yes. Every window on the curve is measured and the shutters are made to suit. The fitting is done by our own team, who work with whoever measured, so no detail goes missing between the two.
Will they look right in an older house?
Yes. Victorian and Edwardian houses and other period homes often have them. They sit with the original features and let you manage how much light comes into the front room and who can see in.
Are they warm in winter?
They help. The panels insulate the glass, holding in more warmth through winter and keeping out part of the summer heat.
Are they a pain to clean?
No. A dust and a damp cloth is all. Fabric curtains collect dust and have to come down to be washed, and shutters do not.
