One set of panels for the whole drop

Full height panels cover the glass from the sill up in a single set. We fit them on sash, casement and bay windows, in living rooms and bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens and home offices.

Angle the louvres and you take out the glare and the view in from the street, while the daylight keeps coming. Ask for a divider rail and the top and bottom louvres work apart. Each shutter is built to the measurements from your own window, which means no fillers or cover strips.

    Angle the louvres for daylight without the glare, then close them when the evening comes.

  • Split the louvres

    Add a divider rail and the bottom louvres can stay shut for privacy with the top ones open.

  • Little upkeep

    A quick dust and a wipe over with a cloth keeps them looking smart.

Ranges that make full height shutters

Every one of our five ranges makes full height. In a bathroom or kitchen we would point you to Hollywood, which is highly water resistant. For real hardwood and a wood stain, go for Montana.

Between them, the five ranges offer 41 colours and stains, and four of them will match a custom colour.

What is a full height shutter?

One set of panels that covers the window from the sill to the top. Tilting the louvres changes how much light comes in and how private the room is, and the style looks at home in a new build or an older house.

Can you fit them to my windows?

Sash, casement and bay windows all take them, arched ones too. We take the sizes of every window when we come out for your free design visit, and the shutters are made to them.

Will the room be dark with them in?

Only when you want it to be. Open louvres let the daylight through and make it hard for anyone outside to look in. Shut them for a dim, private room in the evening.

What does a divider rail do?

It splits the louvres into an upper and a lower section. Some panels have a rail across them, others a break in the louvres. Each section tilts on its own, so the bottom can stay closed while light comes in up top.

Are they any good for keeping heat in?

Yes. Windows let out 18% of the heat a home loses. In 2023 the BBSA tested shutters at the University of Salford's Energy House Laboratory and found that they cut that loss by as much as 36%.

Which rooms do you fit them in?

Living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, home offices and conservatories. For a steamy room, a bathroom or a busy kitchen, Hollywood is the range to choose, as it is highly water resistant.

How wide should the louvres be?

You can choose 47, 63, 76, 89 or 114mm (Boston does not make 114mm). Bigger windows and bigger rooms take the wider louvres best. We bring samples with us on the free design visit, and you can compare them there.

How do the louvres open and close?

You have three choices: a tilt rod down the middle of the panel, a rod set off to one side, or our easy tilt with no rod at all, where moving one louvre moves the rest. Easy tilt is not available with 47mm louvres.

Open the top for the light and leave the bottom shut so the street cannot see in. Café style shuttersThe shutter covers the bottom of the window and the glass above stays bare. Nobody sees in at street level, and daylight pours in over the top. Square bay shuttersA square bay is a pain for curtain tracks. Shutters made for each of its windows let you shut the whole bay up for privacy, or open every side to the daylight.
