Ken Luke
Founder & Master Installer. Measure-to-fit, never cut-to-fit — the standard he built the company around.
From bespoke joinery to founding Shutter World
Ken Luke founded Shutter World after years working in bespoke joinery, having grown frustrated with the gap between mass-market, high-street shutter products and what a genuinely tailored installation could achieve. That frustration became the founding principle of the company: every shutter is measured and engineered to the individual window, never trimmed to fit with fillers or cover strips.
He still personally leads the more demanding jobs — bay windows, angled frames, and installations that call on detailed hardwood joinery — and remains the reference point for the standard the rest of the team is trained to.
What Ken built the company on
No sub-contractors, ever
Every surveyor, consultant, and installer is a full-time Shutter World team member. Ken's view is that accountability starts with ownership of every stage of a project.
Measure-to-fit, not cut-to-fit
Every component is manufactured to the exact specification of the window it's built for — including unusual shapes, angled frames, and bay configurations common in older UK housing.
Guaranteed work, from real people
When Shutter World guarantees a shutter and its workmanship, there's a named team behind that promise — so customers always know exactly who fitted their shutters.
“The installation, led by Ken, was equally flawless. They arrived on time, were incredibly tidy, and worked non-stop. The finished result is breathtaking — the shutters fit like they were always meant to be there.”— Mr & Mrs Sutcliffe, Wakefield · Verified customer
