Circular window closed off by a round shutter

Round shutters made to the circle

Each shutter is sized to the circle of your own window, with louvres that tilt. Ken has even made removable porthole shutters for a narrowboat owner.

A round window that stays round

Round windows are hard to dress. Hang a blind or a curtain and the window ends up looking square, and the shape you liked disappears. A shutter cut to the circle leaves the outline alone, and its louvres tilt for light and privacy.

They suit children's rooms, attic rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms. On one job Ken built shutters for the portholes of a narrowboat, round the liners the owner already had, and made them so they lift out. For a bathroom, Hollywood is the range: it is highly water resistant.

  • The circle stays

Your window keeps the round outline you chose it for, because the shutter sits inside the frame and follows it.

  • Tilt or close

Angle the louvres for daylight, or close them so nobody sees in.

  • On boats too

Ken has built lift-out shutters for the portholes of a narrowboat, made to work with its existing liners.

Ranges that make round shutters

Georgia, Boston, Montana and Hollywood all make round shutters. For a porthole in a bathroom, go for Hollywood: its ABS is highly water resistant.

Between them, the five ranges offer 41 colours and stains, and four of them will match a custom colour.

Questions we get on round shutters

Not answered here? Ring 08707 545 300 or bring it up at your free design visit. We are open 7 days, 9am to 6pm.

What is a round window shutter?

A shutter for a circular, porthole or round window. It traces the frame all the way round and still gives you privacy, light control and an extra layer over the glass.

Can you shutter a round window?

Yes. We take the size of the circle when we come for your free design visit, and the shutter is made to it. It sits tight in the frame and the window stays round.

Do you make shutters for boats?

We have. Ken made a set for the portholes of a narrowboat, working round the liners the owner already had and fitting in with when the boat was being built. Those shutters lift right out when needed.

What about a bathroom porthole?

Hollywood is the range for a bathroom or wet room. Its ABS is highly water resistant and stands up to warping, dents and chips.

Will I still get light through it?

Yes. Open the louvres for all the light you want, angle them against glare, or close them at night. Either way the round window stays the focal point.

Is every range an option?

No. Shaped windows are not made in Seattle, so you choose from Georgia, Boston, Montana and Hollywood. For a wood stain, go for Montana, our premium hardwood.

How do I clean a round shutter?

Dust it and wipe it over with a cloth every so often. In a bathroom, a damp cloth takes soap and steam marks off a Hollywood shutter.
