I finally got around to shooting some photos of Cole’s toddlers and now I am eager to share them :-RRB- We are extremely blessed that Cole has been sleeping in his room from week , so we spend a whole lot of time in this room. It’s probably my favorite room in the house… mostly because my mad love of it is occupant, but I am really happy with how it turned out.
This space is extremely small and the useable area is pretty much a square. Because of this, I needed to be inventive with all the floorplan. So that it worked out but luckily nurseries have furniture that is little. The glider is sort of”floating” in the area, but it works. Here’s a full room taken:
One of my favourite pieces of furniture is your dresser that functions as a changing table. We spend a whole great deal of time at this dresser;-RRB-
Another favorite in this room would be the custom made roman shades. These roman shades were created from the talented women at Drawn Company. I wanted to save a little cash rather than using my normal workroom I switched to Etsy. I was SO impressed by this Etsy shop… the workmanship was equally as professional as if I had gone to my pro workroom! They have pillows , also. . And I am going to sponsor a spoonful out of them shortly! Although he is only 6 weeks old, I love reading . . .
This lucite blossom below is one of the very first items I bought for the nursery, but has been the last thing completed. I could NOT decide on a cloth and looked at dozens of alternatives. I eventually settled on this greek key from Pindler & Pindler, and I love it!
While I worked on this room, I didn’t actually have a strategy like I do with my interior design customers. I just started pulling colors and things that I realized I had a room which was kind of a hodge podge, then liked. I understood a piece of art would tie all together. So I moved Etsy (again) and commissioned the artist Pamela Munger to create an abstract using the colours found in the room. I didn’t need it”matchy”, but I did need it to tie it all together. I like love love it. It reminds me of the Saturdays when Matt and I lived in Orange County we invested Laguna Beach.
The painting is on a piece of paper instead of a picture, and I’d it drifted in a framework. Frankly, the artwork and custom framing is just one of the splurges inside the room, but it is something I’m going to own and love. I picked a traditional Jenny Lind style crib and a natural linen crib skirt (custom made) which would do the job for another kiddo, even if it’s a girl. I like the piece of orange at the crib sheet.
Last however, I’ve got this sweet small bookshelf that Erin (owner of Isabella) gave me. It holds all of of the little pieces that are really sentimental to me, and I love once I sit in the glider when nursing him seeing them. The first shelf and the center shelf hold things and toys and all the little animals that have contributed by family and friends to Cole, respectively. There’s a stuffed animal that was Matt’s as a kid (the bunny to the far right) that my mother-in-law discovered on eBay! So sweet!
