Cover under this warranty
We warrant that each of our shutters will be free from defects in its materials or workmanship.
Every shutter is made by hand, which means a panel may sometimes have small defects. If that happens, we will be glad to review the panel.
In any normal event, a flaw so small that the shutter still works as it should, or one that nobody could see clearly from a distance of two metres, is not treated as a defect. This holds while the original purchaser still owns the shutters.
The warranty is subject to the terms below. It also depends on proper installation of the shutters, and on their being made or assembled from original materials and components only. This warranty becomes void if the product or its materials are resold or transferred in any other way.
How far the warranty goes
This warranty is exclusive, and it replaces every other warranty, liability or obligation. In no event will Shutter World be liable for consequential or incidental damages, or for expenses associated with them.
Under this warranty, your sole remedy is for us to repair or remake defective products, and in no event will Shutter World be responsible for the cost of taking out or reinstalling the product. Any repair will use like or similar parts only.
Shipping charges are not included in this warranty, and neither is the cost of the labour for measuring and installation.
What falls outside the warranty
The warranty does not cover damage to the shutter or the window that is caused by:
- wear and tear
- accidents, or repairs or alterations that were not authorised
- natural disasters
- abuse or misuse
- motorised devices
- failing to follow our instructions for measuring, installing, cleaning or maintaining the shutters.
Replacement parts, repairs or maintenance that are improper, inappropriate or unauthorised will void this warranty.
No liability at all is accepted under this warranty for taking the shutter down and reinstalling it, whether in the same window or a different one, or for damage to the glass, the window frame or to any other part of the window.
Tolerances for louvre movement
The material expands and contracts as the room temperature changes and when direct sunlight falls on the window. That movement can make a louvre (slat) deflect, sag or bow. Movement of no more than plus or minus 2mm falls inside acceptable tolerances. We can send you the specification sheet if you ask.
Matching colour, grain and texture
Colour, grain and texture vary, both naturally and through manufacturing, so Shutter World cannot guarantee that a shutter will match a sample exactly, or that a later order will match exactly. These are normal variations, and they are not grounds on which we can authorise a return.
No other warranties
We expressly disclaim all other warranties, whether express or implied. Liability for incidental or consequential damages, from any cause whatsoever, is excluded entirely under this warranty.
